How do you transform life for every immigrant in the state of California? SIV & Refugee Resettlement Center (SIVRRC) setout to create a plan to reach this very goal. Determined that every immigrant in California should lead a better life, SIVRRC initiated its vision in 2021 to provide an alternative to assist newcomers in their quest for starting a new life. Along existing services available for immigrants, SIVRRC colleagues want to do more; they want to transform life for all immigrants in the state. With help from the community, SIVRRC leadership established a plan to reach this ambitious goal. They developed a strategy that will entail building cooperative relationships with nonprofit organizations and government entities at all levels and set a target for the new arrivals needed to normalize their assimilation in the mainstream life.
SIVRRC will be a pioneer and leader in California’s immigrant resettlement.
As a starting point, SIVRRC opens its headquarter in Sacramento to serve immigrants throughout northern California, and will demonstrate the important role of humanitarian assistance by providing potential opportunities for California’s diverse immigrants. SIVRRC will be widely regarded as one of the leading not-for-profit resettlement management organizations in the region. The need for developing California’s immigrants mainstreaming efforts is unquestionable. California’s increasing immigrant population substantially impacts its economy and lifestyle and the existing organizations are overwhelmed with ever-increasing demand for services to assist the newcomers to self-sufficiency and independency as quickly as possible. Tracking immigrants’ lives clearly indicates that receiving initial assistance results in immigrants pursuing their dream in their new country, which bears early fruits unlike those that didn’t have the opportunity for initial assistances available to them. Communities in urban areas are woefully overcrowded; and the shortage of resources has brought the challenge to a different level. Fortunately, SIVRRC and other organizations have realized the need to shift the focus of California’s immigrants’ assistance resources availability. Government, non-profit organizations and politicians increasingly recognize the value of providing initial assistance to families – particularly those new comers that do not have access to information about available alternatives to better their lives.
SIVRRC focuses on carrying out the concept of an outreach management organization. SIVRRC will develop its service model to navigate the challenges of finding and financing venues, cultivate relationships with community leaders, and create performing relationships in the service area/s. In the process, SIVRRC will establish itself as a premier provider of immigrant supportive system choice in California by means of: its operations having strong resettlement results, faster approach and satisfactory resolutions when needed by new comers. SIVRRC will be at a strategic turning point, with an opportunity to fulfill its longer-term vision of improving immigrants’ lives statewide. SIVRRC’s refined strategy will continue to create direct impact on the society by building quality outreach, and expands its efforts to generate a broader impact in the community by influencing changes in the way of delivery of services, building the capacity and advocating for immigration reforms. This strategy builds on SIVRRC’s experience and knowledge from its close interactions with immigrants’ community thus far. SIVRRC sees that its strategy of working collaboratively with entities can create change. SIVRRC plans to grow significantly in the future. Specifically, SIVRRC hopes to operate and expands its operation in other regions and will have more activities serving at-risk immigrants in more communities. SIVRRC’s growth will occur in two phases. In the first phase, SIVRRC will strengthen and build the organization in anticipation of further growth. In the second phase, the organization will refine the strategy and implement it to reach SIVRRC’s full potential. The second phase will include strategic checkpoints in its operational regions, during which SIVRRC will assess its progress and impact, and reevaluate its strategy. As it grows, SIVRRC will continue to implement its successful preliminary approaches, and will refine operations to enhance immigrants’ preparation for their new lives.
SIVRRC will cover their costs with state and federal funding once their needs are fully assessed and initial startup/scale-up costs are paid. To manage the expansion, SIVRRC will realign its organization by creating regional offices in other regions. The Home Office will set strategy, manage quality and provide support to the regional offices, which in turn will implement SIVRRC’s systems and processes, manage quality, and provide day-to-day support for the immigrants. SIVRRC will try to receive state and federal grants and continue to be available for new immigrants to utilize its services. With this initiative, SIVRRC can build an organization that will provide a high quality service to immigrants’ communities, catalyze positive changes in environment, advocate for improvement in public awareness, and ultimately make a fundamental difference in the lives of those new comers throughout California.
